Jamaican Vacation

If you dream of a Caribbean vacation which offers more than sandy beaches, blue waters, whispering palms, and rum-based drinks at poolside, then a Jamaican vacation might be perfect for you. Jamaica, the third-largest of the Caribbean islands, is a place of intense color and contrast, where jungle-covered mountains descend to unspoiled beaches, and where family-friendly resorts compete for business with adult-only hotels off-limits to the under-18 set for very good reasons.

Jamaica is a country where the all-inclusive resort began, and an all-inclusive Jamaican vacation will find you having your every whim catered to behind the guarded gates of a complex offering every conceivable vacation activity. Your meals, drinks, entertainment, transportation, and outdoor activities will be included in the cost of your accommodations, and in most instances, you will be able to fill every minute of your vacation without ever having to leave your resort. Should you venture out to shop or see the sights, you may be able to include the cost of your tour in your Jamaica vacation package.

If, for example, you arrange your Jamaica vacation package at the Beaches Negril Resort and Spa,you will spend your days on 20 glorious acres along the widest stretch of Seven Mile Beach. Just on the chance that you decide to get a taste of Jamaica beyond the gates of the resort, you can reserve a spot on the Black River Safari. Perhaps you get a glimpse of one of the rivers rare crocodiles, or take a swim in one of its safer spots.

Visit the Appleton Estatenear Negril, and sample some of their authentic Jamaican rum. Negril also has much to offer the shopper in you, with plenty of authentic Jamaican crafts and artifacts. Be prepared to bargain for your purchases, and do not be intimidated by the aggressiveness of the Jamaican merchants. Take the time to enjoy the colorful street performers and calypso bands which are a part of the Jamaican vacation shopping experience.

Perhaps you will be tempted to leave your Jamaica vacation resort for a trip to the Blue Mountains in central Jamaica, where Blue Mountain coffee is grown. The mountains offer miles and miles of hiking trails, as well as miles and miles of rivers for rafting and some of the most spectacular scenery in all the Caribbean.

While you may assume that the best sunbathing during your Jamaica vacation will be what you do at your resort, do not overlook the chance to cool off in one of the rock pools formed at the base of the waterfalls along the mountain rivers. Immerse yourself not only in the water, but in the sounds of the surrounding jungle.

Your entry point to the Blue Mountains will almost certainly be through the port city of Ocho Rios, where you should make time to visit Dunn’s River Falls. The falls descend more than 600 feet where the river empties from the mountains into the ocean.

If you find the tourist atmosphere at the falls unappealing, head 2 miles west of Ocho Rios to the Coyaba River Garden and Museum. The museum displays trace the history of the island from the days of its pre-Columbia people to the days of the African slave trade and colonial times. The gardens are a cool and quiet retreat on 4 1/2 acres of lush landscaping.

One of the things you are certain to learn during your first Jamaica vacation is that you will not want it to be your only one. There is simply no where else on Earth like Jamaica. So arrive there prepared for the vacation of a lifetime and remember to

Planning A Wedding Do It Yourself

A wedding do it yourself style has never been easier.  There are so many websites and books to guide you through the process.  And these days, with the economy the way it is, who can afford a wedding planner anyway?  There are a few simple tips to keep in mind when planning a wedding do it yourself style.

• Enlist help.  Although you may feel like Martha Stewart right now, and ideas may be flowing like the River Nile, once you get started and you see all the options, it is easy to feel overwhelmed.  Choose someone whose opinion you value and keep them handy to help make decisions.

• Use resources.  There are plenty of online and library resources that will walk you through planning a wedding do it yourself style.  They will show you different ideas, themes, and most importantly, will help you get organized.

• Get organized.  Keep a wedding box, book, folder, suitcase, whatever you need to keep everything in one place.  It’s important to write down details about your event so you will know what ideas you love and which ones were good, but will be used only as backup in case you can’t get the thing you really want.

• Don’t be afraid to ask for help.  Many people have planned weddings, many of them even got married themselves, and they have a list of things that went right and a list of things that didn’t go according to plan.  Allow them to share their experiences with you, even if you don’t share their opinions or tastes.  You never know when someone will tell you that the 50 doves you planned to release actually fly only to the nearest telephone lines to sit and then poop all over your limousine. (Yep, you might want to rethink the doves!)

• Know your budget.  Sometimes people plan their own wedding because they know what they want, have the time to get everything done and are extremely creative.  Others do it themselves to save money.  Keep track of deposits and expenditures.  Keep all receipts.  Use a spreadsheet or other tool to help you set a budget and stick to it.

Remember that a wedding do it yourself style can be fun and exciting; picking out your flowers, trying different cakes, parading your bridesmaids around in dozens of gowns until you find the perfect one.  Don’t allow it to become overwhelming or stressful.  Follow the simple steps listed above and you will have a beautiful wedding day.

His efforts at being a super hero very quickly lead him to realize it isn’t as glamorous as it appears. Soon he meets a strange young vigilante called Hit-Girl (Chloe Moretz), and her father Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage). They were already aware of the intrepidity of Kick-Ass through YouTube and the media. This resulted in them joining together to work on getting rid of the town crime syndicate boss Frank D’Amico (Mark Strong). Throughout the journey, Kick-Ass becomes acquainted with another hero, Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), who admires Kick-Ass’s adventures.

Tips and Advice For the Stag Weekend

Listed below are a few things that are worth considering to ensure that the stag weekend goes exactly to plan.

1. Talk it over with the groom or bride if you are unsure.

2. Plan and book the weekend early to ensure nothing goes wrong.

3. Do not be held back waiting too long for people to confirm

4. Work out a rough budget and get the payment off your friends early

5. It is near impossible to choose the activities everyone in a stag group wants to do, so go with the majority.

6. Use an experienced stag or hen agent to reduce stress and ensure you go to the best locations

7. Be conscious of the fact that you are a big stag group, and plan accordingly.

8. You could have pre-prepared themes and pranks to make the weekend stand out. Leaving the groom in his room with just a tight red dress and travel documents at the end of the trip is a classic!

If you follow the list above, you are likely to have a stag party to remember.

One last thing check the dress code of where you are heading. In general too smart rather than too casual prevents problems. If you are heading out in fancy dress to a location check with the landlord that it’s OK beforehand. As a big group let waiters or bar staff know that you have arrived as sometimes you will get table service instead of having to wait at the bar. And in the case of stags, approach clubs in groups of two’s or three’s, some clubs will turn away big lad only groups.

Good luck
